Becoming A Leader

Becoming a leader, chief, manager or head of any organization, foundation, community, company or any kind of group needs more than only personal talent to handle every situation solemnly alone but most importantly able to put people and organize most of the source he has on his group to manage challenge and solve problem. 

too many people think that to be a boss, someone has to be so clever and smart, knowledgeable in his field, no no.. i can say that most urgently he is able to be a good, professional, objective and visioned team player.

Company (as I face now) is a place where a group of people work together for some similar purposes. we see it as Company goals. the manager, staffs, stakeholders, government, society, are working together to create the most possible success to be achieved. there is no possible condition where a company becoming good ONLY because of the boss is great or ONLY because the government supports it so much, or or.. ONLY because the staffs are cohesive, a bunch of docile. 

Leader is someone who is A ROLE MODEL for the other staff. 
to be respected, a leader have to behave, talk and be productive, as the way he wants his staff doing so. It is important that people understand being a boss is not exclusively make him become a jerk, who can do anything he wants, who can act anyway he likes,

But being a boss, mean he is having a high responsibility to manage the group  of people as he has a leader figure who are capable in terms of knowledge and has great example in terms of manner. Act professionally. though he may be the boss, he needs to be cordial to all of his employees. he should also still meet the basic standards of professionalism such as, dressing appropriately, coming to work and meetings on time and communicate in professional manner and language.

Talk about experience on work field may be a good chance to show to other staffs why he is there as the boss. But it does not mean he is okay to be big mouth about all those experience. Most people love to have an admirable boss but not the cocky one. Without showing off, let your employees understand how long you've been in the business and what you have achieved while you were there. Not only will they have a better understanding of why you're sitting in the boss' chair, but they'll be more excited to be a part of your team and will admire you.

Listen to people. A leader should not accuse his team of talking back and yell at them when they are only explaining what they did. Listen to people's ideas and apply plausible ones. Care about people's desires and concerns and does what he can to help make things better.

People are not children. They will react badly when they feel they are treated unfairly or are doing the best they can and he keeps demanding more. They will be angry and frustrated. The best thing to do at this point is apologize or accept the person for who they are.

Do not yell at people in public and refrain from yelling at them at all.
Most people do not deserve this treatment and it is highly unprofessional and wrong. If someone does something wrong, point it out to them and do not be overly pushy with what you want.



All those things above are inspired by one phase of my carrier journey working in a company. it was very frustrating to work with someone who was not only arrogant, but also unprofessional_such as bringing his private business into office and invite private guest who has nothing to do with company_and the most of all, he loved to use company benefit for his individual needs.

Menjadi Percaya

Aku tahu menjadi pengertian, sabar dan percaya adalah tidak mudah
Siapapun bisa menjadi kawatir, takut, cemas, lelah dan nestapa
tetapi semua hal di atas tidak menjadikan siapapun bahagia
tidak aku ataupun kamu

Aku tidak pernah memaksa siapapun untuk tetap tinggal disampingku
kamu, mereka, siapapun bebas pergi dari sisiku
masalah datang dan pergi itu hanya soal pertautan karma dan jodoh
bila sudah seharusnya kita berpisah, maka ambil haluanmu dan melajulah

Seperti menarik kerbau yang keras kepala
pengembala lelah menariknya,
kerbau pun lelah menahan tubuhnya
Tanah tak tergarap, pengembala lelah tak jelas, kerbau berkeringat tanpa kerja

Menjadilah mengerti, percaya dan positive
karena itu menyamankan, menenangkan, melegakan
membuatmu terikat tetapi tidak terbebat
membuatmu teringat tetapi tidak tercekat

Karena inti dari mencintai adalah memberi kebebasan,
dan kepercayaan adalah kebebasan yang paling menenangkan

bilapun kemudian kepercayaan itu hancur dan usang
maka sederhananya, dia sudah tidak seharusnya dipertahankan lagi

Sekali ini kebebasan juga yang menjadi jalan keluar,
bebaskan dia untuk menjadi yang dia mau
bebaskan dia dari harapanmu yang tak lagi sama
bebaskan dia melaju pada rel nya
terlepas dari gerbongmu dan kamu melaju

Karena hidup serupa itu, begitu

After Camping

When I talk with nature, the wind answer me with breeze and the tree answer me with its fallen leaves. the reason I love nature more than cities or people is because nature never be pretender, it is unpredictable, always gives me something new to learn in silent, in no shout, in no judgment.

I don't have much time to enjoy the nature as I hoped, but every time I have my quality time, it is always with nature completed by people or cuisine, but Nature itself is the highlight in those journey.

I went to a simple, unprepared camping with some of my friends in Asah Hill, Bugbug, Karangasem, Bali, I never expected that the nature greeted my with its best appearance. the hill wind, the trees, the bushes, the cliff and the sounds of waves down the hills on the beach, really amaze me more than anything.

Can anything in this world be gentle and rough in the same time as it is also be attractive? NATURE can be that wonderful.

My boyfriend got angry and complained why I didn't tell him before I went, or why I didn't put my trouser on during the night, or worry why I went when most of my team were men. He didn't, he doesn't, he never understand, that those things (trouser, men) were out of my mind when Nature attract me most. He cannot understand that the beach, the waves, the bird chirping on the trees seduced me more than any man can do.

When I go to Klungkung or Singaraja during my time on duty in Karangasem, I spend more than 2 hours to reach the destination, because I always find time to capture nature, animal or people in nature during my trip. Anything can attract me. the long endless bypass road in the evening, the farm terrace in Berina, the small pond with ducks and goose in Abang or a big large ponds with thousand lotus in Candidasa, always stop me.

Nature has secrets, many secrets, it always be mysterious for me, it always be so challenging to be explored (not to be exploited). I still have many places must be visited before I end my duty in Karangasem by March, those are, Telaga Waja, long road to Sidemen, Bebandem, Besakih, Bloo Lagoon, Pasih Tugel, oohh.. I need more time to finish this.

Becoming Stranger

I become a stranger
too stranger to  be listened
too stranger to be noticed
in the middle of nowhere, the middle of maze

I like it
becoming lost,

Untouchable odd

The closest thing to me is the fact itself
No people saving my face, comforting my heart
No people lie
'Coz no people see me

The best of being lost
is the lost itself
I should not be afraid of being right or wrong

None of those road drive me to bad
the odd one (only) drives me into a new acceptance
a new stranger
a new perception
a new me


Kehidupan di Kantor Cabang

Ada beberapa hal yang lebih menyenangkan bekerja di kantor cabang daripada di kantor pusat pada sebuah perusahaan. Aku pernah kerja di kantor pusat beberapa bulan dan memilih untuk pindah ke kantor cabang karena beberapa alasan, diantaranya adalah:
1.       Karyawan kantor cabang less competitive. Mereka suka damai dan lebih mengutamakan kekompakan dan kerjasama team untuk tujuan “sama-sama senang, sama-sama aman” bukan untuk tujuan “siapa menjilat Bos duluan”
2.       Di kantor cabang, ritme pekerjaan lebih lambat dan macam pekerjaan juga lebih sedikit. Bilapun ada perjaan yang banyak atau besar sifatnya, selalu bisa diselesaikan dengan lebih efefktive karena setiap orang tau tugasnya dan “eager beaver” mengerjakannya (jarang-jarang kan ada proyekan besar) hehehee…
3.       Biasanya[N1]  kantor cabang yang notabene punya waktu luang lebih banyak daripada kantor pusat, selalu bisa bikin acara mini gathering yang seru di tengah jam kantor. Misalkan acara makan soto bareng, ngerujak pake mangga di belakang kantor atau hanya sekedar nonton satu dua klip di youtube sama-sama
4.       Untuk posisi managerial, bekerja di kantor pusat dan kantor cabang menerima gaji yang sama besarnya. Kadang volume kerjanya pun sama, tapi situasi sekeliling yang tidak sama. Kantor pusat selalu penuh orang-orang yang sibuk dengan segala hal. Mulai dari sibuk bekerja sampai sibuk membicarakan orang, bergosip dan bergunjing, macam bergosip kena gaji juga hahahaha…
5.       Karena lebih sedikit karyawan, maka lebih sedikit juga sifat buruk, percekcokan yang harus dihadapi. Biasanya kalaupun ada perselisihan, kita tidak akan bisa mengulurnya lama-lama karena dalam kantor kecil itu kita pasti saling bertatp muka, cepat atau lambat maaf-maafan pun harus dilakukan.
